You are not even sure it wasn't just a trick. Your city, the city of Cube, was in the path of a humanoid hoard crashing into what you are told was once an Empire. Some called the hoard the Army of the Black Eagle, some just called it the Doom. Reluctantly, you were conscripted into the Army of Cube and given some fundamental training. Prior to that you had never been outside of the Low End much less outside the city of Cube. Being able to see stars in the sky and waking up to something other than coughing fits is still somewhat amazing to you. 6860 Dungeon Crawl Classics: Inferno Road, GM: Doug Kovacs, 30 players, No XP/Simple, Saturday 8p-12a. Multi-Judge Event: First run after hours at GenCon, this game is described as "basically Heavy Metal Mad Max meets Hieronymus Bosch." The sky is a roaring fire. Hot sulfurous winds whip over caustic ash dunes and howl through the smoldering ruins of infernal temples and iron prisons. Blue flames of hate burst among the slag heaps of pain. Devil bellies rumble in want of Souls in every hole and crack. Cutting through it all like a straight razor through soft flesh, a white highway paved with the skulls of the damned stretches to the burning black horizon. A bellow of boundless rage, titanic and rolling like a great wave of doom, shakes the blackened stones. The Lord of the Flies is betrayed. Blazing beams slash through the gloom of the clinging soot fog, and a deep, ominous rumble begins to rise. General Audience (13+) Conference H Table 1, 2, 3. $4.00

One problem, it's on the far side of a large crevasse and it's slaves (which of course are your fellow village folk) are lofting it's birthing palanquin upon their backs into a dark gloomy tunnel. 6939 Dungeon Crawl Classics: Fae Hard!, GM: James Pozenel, 6 players, No XP/Simple, Sunday 10a-2p. At one time you were a guest at the board of the Red King, Alboran, lord faerie of the curiously grottoed hill called Noc Marb or Death’s Hill. You still fondly remember that seemingly endless night of dancing and singing and feasting. You offended the king of the faerie mound or forgot your village’s prescriptions on the various ways to escape a faerie hill. (Nevermind the fact that should one heed the warnings against entering one in the first place.) Now enslaved by Alboran, your life is a mind numbing tedium of cleaning, cooking and, serving. When you are not slaving away for the faeries of Noc Marb, you spend your time confined in your dreary cells beneath the apartments and feasting halls of Noc Marb. As the evening’s revelry draws nigh, the ground rocks and a series of explosions from the mound above shake you from your rest. To you and your companions’ profound confusion, you hear faint screams, rumbling blasts, and then nothing. General Audience (13+) Conference H Table 8. $4.00
