U-Con Con Chair Update – 2022 October 04

Greetings! U-Con is this week!!!

We are looking forward to seeing all our friends, old and new, and having a great weekend of games! Some final information before the con.

We are using new software for event management, Tabletop, which you’ve seen if you have already registered for your badge and events. We had a training session all day Sunday for our Ops team, and everything is looking fine with its use. However, as it is our first year using it, there will no doubt be issues, which we will handle as we go. We appreciate your understanding, and will do our best to ensure everyone’s experience is as smooth and pleasant as possible.

If you have any issues at all, please come to Ops (in the same central location as previous years). We want to know if there are any problems so we can address them early and quickly.

Pre-Reg pickup is on Thursday (in the main lobby of the hotel) at 8 PM. We are opening full registration pickup at 8 AM on Friday. Don’t forget to bring your proof of vaccination and booster (or a valid documented PCR test no more than 72 hours previous), along with your valid ID. Masks are required at all U-Con spaces, and we have extra at Ops if you need any.

We encourage everyone to use the Tabletop software to add/remove events. While there isn’t an app, accessing the website from a smartphone is working quite well. If you can’t make an event you signed up for, please release the ticket. If you are sitting down at a table with an opening, please add yourself to the event.

While we do have a Con Book this year, it does not have information about specific events: use your cellphone Tabletop access, or go to Ops and we’ll sign you up.

We are having an auction at 1PM on Saturday and two raffles (6 PM, Friday and Saturday at Ops). We are retiring our prize support tokens, so don’t forget to bring your previously acquired U-Con tokens to spend on what we have left of our Prize Support items!

It has been years since our last U-Con in person, and we are still in the tail end of the pandemic. Thank you all for your understanding, and am looking forward to seeing everyone again! We are working hard so that all of you can have a good time playing games. Thank you again to all the volunteers and Game Masters who make U-Con possible!
