Events Spotlight – RPGs
Greetings, U-Con Community!
We’re still looking for lots more GMs and events for GMs to run! Remember that GMs get a hefty discount if they run 8 hours of games, and their badge is free if they run 16 hours! Head over to the Gamemaster’s page for more details.
This week we’re looking at some of the RPG systems that have been submitted for U-Con 2022.
Call of Cthulhu – Based off the horror from H. P. Lovecraft, players are investigators looking into different cosmic and alien mysteries threatening the area, or perhaps the entire Earth. Are you ready to face the terrifying truth behind what goes bump in the night?
DCC RPG (OSR) – Dungeon Crawl Classics, part of the OSR track, is a throwback to when adventure meant seeking gold and glory, slaying anything that gets in your way. The rule set is fast paced and open, allowing players to get into the action quickly. DCC has also spawned additional settings, such as Mutant Crawl Classics.
Fate Core – FATE is a flexible role-playing system that supports any kind of world you can imagine. It’s storytelling system is about providing the players a more proactive role in how the stories are told. Can your extraordinary characters live a normal life, or are they destined to be fighting evil for all eternity?
Genesys – Genesys is a different kind of flexible role-playing system, using a special kind of narrative set of dice. This system is more involved than FATE’s simplified, but has the capability of running, fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and more worlds.
This is just a small sample of available RPG systems that are available at U-Con. Going over all of the different stories to be told would take too long, so you’ll just have to wait for the Events Preview to open up August 8th.
