U-Con 2021 Announcement

The U-Con Board of Directors would like to announce that U-Con 2021 will be held as a face to face convention as previously scheduled: from November 19-21, 2021, at the Eagle Crest Hotel and Conference Center in Ypsilanti, MI. You will be able to submit events in the near future; hotel reservations for our room block are already open and some people have booked rooms. (Note that we don’t currently have the discount code, and it may be a few days before we get it and post it.)

What pandemic-related precautions will be required for con attendees? U-Con will always follow guidance intended to protect the health and safety of our attendees and staff, and the staff of our venue. It’s too early to know what, if anything, that will entail by late November.

What happens if there is a resurgence of COVID? We have contingency plans to switch to a virtual con if it becomes unsafe to hold U-Con face to face, though we don’t expect that to happen. We are fortunate to have a great long-term relationship with Eagle Crest, so we have flexibility. (Be kind to other cons which may not have a partner like Eagle Crest.) And you’ll be able to get out of your hotel reservations if the con has to be cancelled.

We’d like to encourage all of you to get vaccinated, because it makes all of us safer and reduces the chance of a surge that could force us to move back to a virtual con.

We missed everyone last year, and we’re excited to game together again. Hope to see you in November!
