Featured Event: 7th Sea LARP
This posted on International Talk Like a Pirate Day!
On Friday Nov 22, U-Con will host a LARP set in the swashbuckling RPG of 7th Sea.
7th Sea is a “swashbuckling and sorcery” game which takes place in the land of Theah, a world that mirrors 17th Century Europe. Many of the countries that we acknowledge being European can find their exaggerated counterparts in 7th Sea. Avalon – England, Castile – Spain, Eisen – Germany and so forth. If you think adding more information about the world is important – there are a variety of websites detailing the game system.
The LARP itself will be taking place on a ship, called the Persephone which is traveling from Carleon in Avalon to Crieux in Montainge.
It is going to include many of the attributes that made the 7th Sea gaming system so successful – role-playing. These will include a host of really cool and complex characters, adventure, intrigue, excitement, romance and so forth. One of the passengers will state that her valuable gem has been stolen and accuses the crew. But this is just the beginning. There are a variety of levels of intrigue here, and players should be able to get involved in a variety of plot lines to keep them engaged and excited. There are 30 characters available and so I would love to widely publicize this. There are a good mix of female and male characters – the Captain of the Persephone is a woman! People can contact me ahead of time if they have a particular country they are interested in hailing from.
Role-playing is highly encouraged. Costumes are even more encouraged!
Please contact the GM ahead of time for character selection –
You can preregister for the LARP on our website, however generic tickets or the play games ribbon will also work. Click the “register” tab so you can be sure to add either a Friday or Weekend badge.
