Not An Update
Oh hi! Sorry, I didn’t see you there. And I didn’t post this week. I’m so sorry. It’s just that I’ve spent all my U-Con time this week making the convention awesome.
We decided to honor a (formerly local) game writer. Jason Caminsky playtested his New Fire role playing game at U-Con back in 2010. This year, he’s launching his game, so we decided to bring him back to Michigan for our convention. We’ll try to get photos, a bio, and images of New Fire up in the next couple weeks. Meanwhile, please join me in welcoming him as our Guest of Honor.
Also, we put together some advertising for GenCon!
And finally, we’ve been working to recruit events. The Abstract Games Tournament will return for 2012!
Needless to say, we are completely psyched about U-Con this year. Please submit events, like us on Facebook, subscribe to our event, and tell your friends about U-Con!
What I’ve read and viewed (pics) of New Fire looks fab, discounting my addiction to dice. New Fire uses a different randomizer, cards used with heavy emphasis on a storytelling mechanic.
Here’s the Kickstarter page for New Fire, which may have been the first Kickstarter project ever to offer an atlatl as a prize:
